brooke woke up at 5 am. She jumped out of bed and started to quietly dress. Her roomates were still asleep, but she had a date with a certain someone. 'You up yet?' she heard in her head. She decided to pretend she wasnt, even though he would know when she was coming. 'Huh.....' she said groggily. She brusehd her teeth and practically ran out the door in her string bakini and a pair of shorts over it. She went down to Fea. 'Hey....wanna go see Ajax and the other horses today?' she asked him in their newly formed mind-connection. 'Yeah!' he replied through it. She got on him bareback and Fea decided to gallop over to the stables. He stopped just outside the gate. Brooke dismounted and let Fea loose. 'Have fun!' she called as he ran to the other horses. She walked in the gate and up the walkway. She looked into the barn and came up behind Ajax. "Hey!" she said while wrapping him in a big hug from behind. She laughed and let go. He turned around...

And hugged her back, enjoying their shared warmth. Reluctantly he pulled away and pointed to a scoop. "You want to help feed?" he asked. It was one of his favorite chores because the horses were so funny when they were hungry, and their comments cracked him up.

"Sure." she said, not wanting him to let go of her. She had liked the warmth of his body. She thought about why he might have wanted to feed the horses first. 'Maybe I'll find out in a minute' she said, taking some food over to Aiya.

Ajax was trying not to laugh out loud, in case he made Brooke feel left out. But something a haughty horse named Duchess said just hit him in the worst way and he doubled over, panting in silent peals of laughter. You look ridiculous, fool, said Duchess disapprovingly. Brooke looked over, wondering why Ajax hadn't given her another scoop of food to give another horse, and smiled uncertainly.

Brooke thought that one of the horses must have said something funny because Ajax could not seem to stop laughing. He was doubled over laughing hysterically. "What did they say to you?" she asked, feeling kind of left out, but at the same time, very curious.

Ajax looked at Brooke, finally managing to settle down. "Sorry," he croaked. "She said something about the horse next door being skin and bones from having to wait so long for food." Brooke looked at the pony by Duchess and saw why he had laughed. He was obviously overfed and extremely overweight-- nothing but skin and bones.
((not very funny but then I'm just not very creative am I?! LoL))

Brooke giggled at the comment. The horse was extremely fat. She could see why it was funny. SHe looked at Ajax again. She went and fed the "skin and bones" horse. "SO whats next?" she asked excitedly.

"Well first I'll muck out the stalls and you can round-pen a couple of horses that won't get any other exercise today and let out a couple of others. I'll show you. Then we can go on a trail ride to the lake." he smiled and went to grab a schedule for Brooke and a pitchfork and wheelbarrow for himself.

Brooke was excited. She was going to get to spend practically the whole day with Ajax!

When they had finished the chores, Ajax put a halter on Ashquar and mounted up, holding the lead rope as reins and waiting for Brooke to get Fea.

Brooke called Fea to her and mounted him. Fea walked over to Ajax willingly and Ajax moved Ashquar into a trot. Fea followed suit on his own, wanting a race.

Ajax, hearing in Fea's inhuman mind the vage echo of an instinct to race, silently asked Ashquar to canter, eyeing Brooke.

Brooke didnt have to even nudge Fea. He wanted to race badly...she could feel it in his every movement. She sighed. 'Ok...fine...you win, i'll race him.' she said to the horse. Ajax sent her backa feeling of delight. Their connection was getting stronger. "Race you to the lake!" she shouted to him and Fea let loose a burst of power and went into a full gallop. She bent low over Fea as her training had taught her and felt, rather than heard, Ajax and Ashqur right behind them. Brooke turned her head ans saw Ashquar and Ajax right next to her. They slowly started to pull ahead. 'Cmon buddy, you can beat that old horse!' she sent him. Fea's feet started to move faster and faster until he surpassed Ashquar again. Brooke couldnt help but smile. They reached the lake area and she sent Fea a message to stop. He slowed and was breathing heavily. Ajax pulled up beside her and smiled. Brooke grinned back. "We win." she simply said. She jumped off Fea and gave him a pat. 'K...you can do whatever you want for a while.' Brooke looked at Ajax. "What now?" she asked, once again, wanting him to kiss her...she tried to settle the feelings, but couldnt control them this time. The want was too strong. Instead, she looked down.

Ajax looked at her oddly-- their weak connection hadn't broken, and he felt.. a longing. What unsettled him was that the longing was for him. He shuffled his feet. "Yeah, you won... he's a good horse," he said awkwardly, nodding his head towards Fea. "You want to rub him down with some lakewater? He looks pretty hot, and that can be dangerous." He mindspoke to Fea to walk towards the sloping edge of the lake and started splashing some water on his body, waiting for Brooke to join in. His muscles were flexed with restraint. Luckily he was still fully clad so she couldn't see how badly he wanted to kiss her back. Swimming by himself had always been easy, and he'd switched to some sort of water animal often. But this.. he would have to get used to going swimming with another human.

Brooke went over to the lake and started to help Ajax splash the water on Fea. She could have swron she saw the horse smile, but she ignored it. Just then, Fea 'slipped' and pushed Brooke into Ajax. Ajx caught her and she looked up at him with greatful, but longing eyes.
