A small, pale girl with a pair of violet wings almost as tall as herself and long deep violet hair parted the underbrush. Banon had shrunk herself and cast a glamour of normal skin tint over her body. She needed some time away from all of her upcoming responsibilities along with her current ones. Nodding at a dragonfly staring at her with huge shining orbs, she trudged on, trying to find a suitable toadstool to sit on. She felt like doing some magic, maybe making a fairy ring to amuse herself. She felt so out-of-touch with nature lately. It must be because of the unnatural child growing in her womb. He grew more quickly than any baby should. Banon was in constant pain, and stretch marks marred her before flawless stomach. She cried tears of pain more often than tears of joy where she'd never cried before. Faeries simply didn't do that. She hadn't cried more than twice in her 124 years of life before her pregnancy. She still didn't bawl or anything, just occasionally, drops leaked out of the corners of her eyes and dried on her pale lavender cheeks. She felt bad now because she'd blocked Eragon out of her mind. Oh well. It's not like he needs me every second, she reassured herself.
