Eragon laughed. "yes, even when you bathe." he said, chuckling.

Donni stared at him, wide-eyed still. "It's THAT important? Whoa." She looked down at the belt on her waist with awe. She felt like she'd been in awe all day.

Eragon laughed and turned back towards the shopkeeper. "I'll also need the belt for Ari....." he said more quietly, referring to his sword. He unsheathed it to show the shopkeeper proof that he did indeed own it. It was the rarest, most priceless sword in all of the realms. The shopkeeper went white and nodded his head. He returned a moment later with Eragon's new belt. Eragon shuddered at the power coming from the now united belt and sword. He clipped the belt onto him and fastened the sword onto it. He pulled the sword out again to marvel at it one last time. It had a light blue stone on the hilt. It was a solid gold hilt that could never break. The sword was made of a material that was not known to anyone but the forge-god. He himself had made the sword for eragon so many moons ago...Eragon sheathed the sword again and turned back to Donni. he kept one hand on the sword, wanting to be ready for the people that would try to steal their swords. "Lets go." he said, strolling out the door and into the sunlight.

Donni mimicked Eragon, keeping a hand on the hilt of her weirdly familiar sword and swaggering along, squinting in the pre-sunset sunlight.

Eragon squinted in the sunlight and wrapped his hand fully around his hilt as he heard some people talking. They popped out of a nook in the alley and withdrew some smokebombs. They threw them down and Eragon heard them unsheathe swords. Eragon armed Donni and his swords with magic and unsheathed his sword. He heard Donni do the same. 'Be careful.' he said in the mind-link. He could tell she was scared. 'Dont show your fear...they draw on it....' He listened for footsteps and swung his sword up and then down, cutting through bone and muscle. He withdrew his now bloodthirsty sword and let it lead him to the next person. he could feel the magic in Donni's sword doing the same thing. She followed it, just like he did, and started swinging wildly. He moved away from her and found another guy. He decapitated him and watched the smoke go away. All of the people who had tried to attack them laid dead. He was sweating and his shirt had been torn to shreds by a girl who's sword had broken through his shield and gotten his shirt. He sighed and took what was left of it off. He now was shirtless, revealing his tanned, muscualer upper body. He looked over at Donni to see how she had fared.

Donni was kind of smiling crazily until she saw the dead bodies. Then she just felt... numb. She stared at them, thinking, They had families. They had friends... they were like me. She looked at Eragon with tears in her eyes, not even noticing his hot body. "We... killed them," she whispered. "Who were they?" She didn't even notice the blood running down her leg from the deep cut in her thigh or the scratch on her forehead or the gash in her upper arm. She hadn't mastered swordsmanship or even hardly learned it, and had only swung blindly, letting her sword guide her. She was lucky to get out alive.

Eragon sighed deeply. "Yes, we did. This is a small price. Don't worry, they had no families or close ties. They were hired help from someone. Thieves...they will not be missed." he said, going over to Donni and putting his arm around her. "We need to get you cleaned up." he said, looking her over and examining the cuts. Some of them were deep. He sighed. "I know someone who's good with healing magic....we can go see her." he said, thinking of Banon.

Donni wiped the tears from her face resolutely and nodded, gulping down any threatening sobs and shaking her head. She was a little pale, and the cuts kept bleeding. She ignored it all and followed Eragon, jumping at the slightest sound.

Eragon decided it would be better to just use a teleporter to get to Banon's tree house. He sighed and told her he was coming, with a visitor. 'Wear clothes' he sent, smiling. He set up a teleporter at both ends and both him and Donni walked into it. This time, she held his hand lightly as the traveled.

Donni felt like a little kid, but she couldn't help it. She felt kind of vulnerable and baby-ish right now, like a newborn, sensitive to everything. She began to lean on Eragon about halfway through the trip, her eyes half-closed. She felt a little nauseous and weird.

Eragon smiled as Donni leaned on him for support. They arrived at Banon's house and stepped out of the teleporter. Eragon's face broke into a huge smile as Banon walked out of the house. She was in human form so she wouldnt scare Donni. Eragon slowly walked, helping Donni along, towards Banon. He now knew the secret....the one that only they knew. Eragon would not tell his parents that he was to have a child....this child would be far more powerful than both he and Banon. He kissed Banon lightly on the lips and helped Donni to sit down. He watched as Banon examined Donni's injuries.

Banon smiled at the girl, not really knowing how to act around children but knowing she had to learn. "Care to tell me how this happened?" Banon asked, gently probing a wound and finding the different fibers to reattach with magic. She put a mixture of herbs and water on the wound to help the pain while she healed-- with several wounds, she knew she should conserve her magic. She didn't like to ever use up more than half of her reserves-- anything could happen at any time. She smiled up at Eragon for a moment before turning back to her work.

Eragon smiled at her and sent some energy flowing into her, knowing she was now 'feeding' two bodies, not just one. He lent some of his magic as well. He watched, interested, as he noticed how the magic was knitting together her wounds.

"I can teach you both healing magic... although I can't feel the aptitude in either of you, you can both learn a limited and necessary amount," Banon remarked absent-mindedly as she concentrated on healing Donni. When she finished, the wounds were seamless, but as always after a healing, the patient was groggy. Banon smoothed a hand over Donni's forehead, and said gently, "Sleep..." Donni fell into a deep and much-needed sleep. Then, concerned, Banon turned to Eragon. "You lent me too much energy." Then, standing up, she carefully examined Eragon's body for any injuries or even scratches, letting her slender fingers tickle his tan skin, the energy crackling between them ready to heal the slightest wound.

He smiled at her. "I lent as much as you needed...that's not too much." he replied evenly, waiting for his wounds to disappear. He felt the cut on his arm start to tickle with magic. He turned to look at it then turned back to Banon. "Thank you." he said softly and kissed her. He felt a kick against his stomach when he moved closer to her, touching her stomach lightly and pulled away for amoment. He looked down at her stomach and smiled. He bent down and kissed her stomach. "Hello to you to." he said lovingly.
